“How Video Games Can Revolutionize the Static Classroom” published in the Fox Forum

In the Fall 2010 semester I wrote a research paper titled “How Video Games Can Revolutionize the Static Classroom” for my Communications Research Methods and Strategies class. Recently, a shortened version was published in the academic discourse journal of Marist College, the Fox Forum (Spring 2011 / Volume 1). So, I thought I’d re-post this paper, along with the PowerPoint of the presentation that accompanies it.

The implementation of video game technology in education is a topic I’ve followed for over six years now and wish to continue researching. With the growth of digital natives and immersion of new interactive media, the need to seriously consider the proper utilization of video game technology in education is becoming both more pertinent and possible.
